AGAMEMNON is one of the most powerful Aeschylean Greek mythology classics in drama’s history. A story about revenge, honor and a King of cursed fate. It is a living prophecy of a self- cursed royal family with a history of cannibalism, adultery and murder. It is the “Dawn of darkness”. The first in a mighty trilogy, (the Orestia) which in the end, suffering brings redemption and justice tempered with mercy from a kindly God and an avenging son.

This epic musical presentation of the classic play by acclaimed composer/musician, Antonio Newton captures the mystic and timeless elements while bringing a fresh new perspective through the musical sound medium of colorful orchestrations and counterpoint, dynamic melodies and the addition of several songs with powerful lyrics which highlight and emphasize the finer points of the powerful and ominous drama of moral incriminations.

This story/trilogy was chosen for adaptation by Newton for it’s spiritual, classical and controversial aspects, as they still apply today in our own contemporary life and times, as well as being able to reach a wide variety of listening audience. The work will feature an array of some of the finest vocalists and music artists in contemporary music. The work also features Newton’s harmonic approach using the “NOVAPHONIC SOUND” of added sonic resonance, which creates and heightens a rich sonic and emotional ambiance for the listener.

This contemporary rare music recording of the classic story is presented as an audio musical, containing 1 hour 14 minutes of story narration, music interludes and vocal songs all to create a sensational music work of art with much breadth, and depth, in mind, emotion and soul! Because of hosting file size restraints, Agamemnon is divided into 3 digitally mastered recordings seamlessly transitioning from one to the other.
